Conrad Coates
Based on the west coast, British-born actor Conrad Coates has amassed an impressive list of roles in international theatre, film, television and radio. He has built a solid foundation performing in more than 30 stage productions including two seasons at Canada’s premier Shakespearean theatre – The Stratford Festival, appearing in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew and As You Like it.
Coates has also appeared in numerous television programs including ABC’s hit series Kyle XY, Sci-Fi Network’s The Dresden Files, including Smallville, Reaper, Degrassi- the Next Generation, as well as Disney’s XD channel TV movie Skyrunners, currently in production in New Zealand.
His film credits run the gamut from independents, The Death of Alice Blue- “an exciting maturation story which uses vampires as a metaphor for loss of innocence and consumerism”, as well as the hit dance film How She Move to Hollywood appearances in major features such as Cell 213 with the director Stephen T. Kay (Get Carter and Boogeyman) starring Eric Balfour and The Sentinel starring Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland.
Conrad will be back “on the boards” at Toronto’s Tarragon Theatre’s world premiere of Hush by playwright Rosa Laborde opening in February 2010.
